Ross Pattee joined the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB) in 2005, as a Member at the Refugee Protection Division (RPD), and was also cross trained and cross appointed to the Immigration Appeals Division (IAD). He was appointed Assistant Deputy Chairperson of the RPD in November of 2008 with the mandate of leading the RPD in the Western Region.
On April 4, 2011, Mr. Pattee was appointed Deputy Chairperson for the new Refugee Protection Division, a new public service position created through refugee reform. His responsibilities include staffing and setting the direction for the new Division. He has also been actively involved in assisting the Refugee Reform Team as the organization moves to implement the Balanced Refugee Reform Act (BRRA).
Prior to joining the IRB, Mr. Pattee held various positions at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia over a twelve year period. Those positions included Corporate Counsel, Senior Manager of Fraud Prevention and Special Investigation Unit, and Senior Manager of Corporate Communications.
Ross Pattee holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree and a Law Degree from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
